Resolution 9504 RESOLUTION NO. 9504
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it is deemed to be to the
best interest of said City to secure the passage, at the
1957 Session of the State Legislature, of a Bill entitled:
"AN ACT AMENDING SECTION 4 OF CHAPTER 18691,
LAWS OF FLORIDA, ACTS OF 1937, SO AS TO PROVIDE
THAT AN ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WHICH
ELIMINATES THE REQUIREMENT THAT NO FURTHER
CITY FUNDS SHALL BE CREDITED TO THE ACCOUNT OF
A MEMBER OF THE RETIREMENT AND PENSION SYSTEM
CREATED UNDER AND BY AUTHORITY OF SAID CHAPTER
WHEN THE AMOUNT CREDITED TO HIM AS TOTAL CITY
CREDIT SHALL BE, OF ITSELF, WITH INTEREST
COMPUTED THEREON AT 3% COMPOUNDED ANNUALLY,
SUFFICIENT TO PROVIDE A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE
OF $3,300.00 PER YEAR AT AGE 60 YEARS, SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE AND POSTING
AS REQUIRED BY LAW WITHOUT HOLDING AN ELECTION
THEREON."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this
Resolution and of said Bill be furnished to the Honorable
Joe Eaton, the Honorable John B. Orr, Jr. , the Honorable
W. C. Herrell, and the Honorable George L. Hollahan, Jr. ,
Members of the Florida Legislature from Dade County, and
that they each be respectfully requested to see that said
Bill be introduced and passed at said Session.
