Resolution 9516 RESOLUTION NO . 9516
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is now
supplying water to the residents of said City by virtue
of a contract dated June 29, 1944, by and between said City
and the Department of Water and Sewers of the City of Miami,
Florida; and
WHEREAS, said contract will expire on the 28th day
of June, 1959; and
WHEREAS, in order to assure to the City of Miami
Beach a supply of potable water, it is deemed advisable to enter
into a contract with said Department of Water and Sewers of the
City of Miami, by the terms of which the said agency will
agree to furnish and the City of Miami Beach will agree to
purchase an adequate supply of water for the term of thirty ( 30)
years, commencing on the said 28thday of June, 1959; and
WHEREAS, after several conferences between
representatives of the parties, a final draft of a proposed
contract has been prepared and has been approved by the Cityts
attorney as to its form; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida is familiar with the contents thereof and
deems it to be to the best interest of said City to enter
into said contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and the
City Clerk of said City be and they are hereby authorized
to enter into said contract on behalf of and in the name of
said City.
