Resolution 9556 RESOLUTION NO. 9556 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has had before it certain "Home Rule" ordinances proposed to be adopted by the County Commissioners, and analyses thereof, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has, after due consideration, concluded and determined that the proposed ordinances constitute an invasion and usurpation of traditionally purely local municipal matters, particularly in the fields of the enforcement of municipal ordinances, traffic violations, municipal court revenues, police protection, zoning and building codes, buildin. permits and inspections, and waste collection, all of which have been demonstrated through centuries of experience to be most economically, conveniently and efficiently regulated at the municipal level, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has concluded and determined that the best interests and general welfare of the public require and demand that the home rule of cities should he retained by their citizens and that the same should not be Frittered away and destroyed through the guise that purely local matters have suddenly become metropolitan in character merely by reason of the adoption of the "Home Rule" Charter, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to transmit a certif ,ed copy of this Resolution to each County Commissioner of Dade County, Florida, and to each of the daily newspapers published in Dade County, Florida.
