RESOLUTION NO . 9613
WHEREAS the Department of the Army did heretofore
on April 12, 1955 by its Lease No. DA-08-123-ENG-1768 lease
to the City of Miami Beach, Florida, the lands described in
said lease, and being a portion of lands commonly known as the
Corps of Engineers Reservation in Miami Beach, Florida, and
WHEREAS the Department of the Army is granting a
permit to the United States Coast Guard to "construct, operate,
maintain and restore a radio direction finder calibration
station on Corps of Engineers Reservation, Miami Beach, Florida"
on a portion of the lands described in said hereinabove described
lease, and
WHEREAS the Department of the Army, by and through
the Corps of Engineers has requested the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, to join in the execution of said permit, whereby it
"consents to the exercise by the United States Coast Guard of
the rights and privileges granted by (said) Permit, insofar as
the above said leasehold interest of the City is concerned.",
and
WHEREAS the Department of the Army, by and through
the Corps of Engineers has prepared and submitted to the City
of Miami Beach for execution by the duly authorized officers
of said City an appropriate form of consent incorporated within
said Permit and exhibits attached thereto, with all of which the
City Council of the City of Miami Beach has been made familiar,
and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be to the best interests of said City that it
execute the consent clause incorporated in said Permit, as
requested,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said consent portion of said Permit for and in behalf of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of September, A.D. 1957.
