SUBJECT: Health Advisory Committee
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Commission of
several Motions passed by the Health Advisory Committee at their September
17, 2018 meeting.
Members Present: Robert Bedell, Alan Nieder, MD, Daniel Nobel, Karen Rivo,
Marc Umlas, MD, Mark Rabinowitz, MD, Martin Zaiac, MD, Sorangely Menjivar,
Steven Oppenheimer, DMD
Members Absent: Steven Sonenreich, Mario Reyes, MD, Maria Ruiz
MOTION: To support the City's initiative of putting together a Community Health
Fair for 2019.

Seconded by Daniel Nobel
Motion Adopted 8-1 by voice
MOTION: After review of referred item No. C7 AR (A Resolution of the Mayor
and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, urging the United
States Food & Drug Administration to expeditiously proceed to enact and enforce
regulations prohibiting the sale and marketing of youth-friendly and youth-
oriented e-cigarettes to minors in the immediate interest of the health, safety and
welfare of our nation's youth.) the Committee recommends that the Commission
further study the issue of enacting and enforcing regulations prohibiting the sale
and marketing of e-cigarettes to minors.
