Resolution 9729 RESOLUTION NO. 9729
WHEREAS there is pending in the United States Senate
that certain Bill numbered S.72 providing for an increase in
the amount of annuities payable to certain annuitants from the
Federal Civil Service and Disability Fund, and
WHEREAS a number of such annuitants and retirants
are residents and citizens of the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS it is for the best interests of said residents
and said City that every favorable consideration be given to
the needs and requirements of said annuitants and retirants,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the members of Congress
of the United States be and they are hereby requested to
favorably consider the merits of said Senate Bill S.72, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk transmit a
duly certified copy of this Resolution to the Honorable
Spessard L. Holland, the Honorable George Smathers, United
States Senators of the State of Florida, and to the Honorable
Dante B. Fascell, Congressman of the Fourth Congressional District
of the State of Florida.
