Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission:
Although the Transportation, Parking & Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee
(TPBPFC) met on September 17, 2018, whereby two (2) very important
motions/positions were passed, the customary Letter to Commission was not
issued timely.
The TPBPFC would like to communicate these motions:
Parking Rate Increase
Please note that the below motion/TPBPFC's position was included in the
Commission Memo for the Budget Commission meeting held on September
26th, 2018 {Item RS D)
The TPBPFC strongly recommended for the City to leave the meters in the
Entertainment District as is -until 3:00 a.m. The TPBPFC's sentiment is that
businesses are struggling and expanding the metered parking hours of
enforcement would be an additional burden to the business community in light
of the commercially competitive environment regionally, including Brickell,
Midtown and Wynwood.
Trolley Advertising
The TPBPFC asked that the Commission not consider any exterior advertising on
trolleys.
As an advisory Committee, we would greatly appreciate your consideration on
the above motions.
