Resolution 9864 RESOLUTION NO. 9864 BE IT RESOLVED by the Miami Beach City Council, at its regular meeting held October 1, 1958, that the sincere gratitude of the members of the City Council be expressed to the voters of this City for the confidence shown in us, and the City Manager and City Administration, in over- whelmingly following the recommendation we made for an affirmative vote on the Autonomy Amendment, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we express our formal thanks, for their splendid efforts, to the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, its president, Leon McAskill, its General Manager, Leonard Baker, and the Chairman of its Special Committee, James D. Levenson, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we of the Miami Beach City Council hope and pray that the assurances given in the the Miami Herald and the Miami News that the charter as written fully protects and insures the autonomy and continued life of the cities of Dade County, and the continued integrity of their services and being, shall be fulfilled, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that likewise, the similar assurances of the six newly elected Metro Commissioners shall also be faithfully fulfilled, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we express to the en- tire eleven man Metro Commission, our sincere desire to cooperate for the greater good of all of Dade County and with the fervent prayer that from this day forth there shall be open discussion, cooperation and open ordinances openly arrived at.
