Resolution 9869 RESOLUTION NO. 9869 WHEREAS, agreements have been heretofore executed by the terms of which various Hotel Operators of the City of Miami Beach, in consideration of the benefits which would accrue to such operators, agreed to pay over to the City an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the gross room revenue accruing to the operators from conventions booked and held in said City during the period extending from September 1, 1953 to August 31, 1955, and WHEREAS, the various parties heretofore extended the said agreements for an additional period of three (3) years, commencing September 1, 1955 to August 31, 1958, and WHEREAS, the various parties now desire to extend the said agreements for an additional period of three (3) years, commencing September 1, 1958 and extending to and including August 31, 1961, under the same terms and conditions of the original agreements, and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the terms of said extension agreements and deems it to be to the best interest of said City that the said extension agreements be entered into; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute in the name of and on behalf of said City the said extension agreements, which are as follows : AGREEMENT dated September 23, 1958 between the City of Miami Beach and Jack Parker for the Barcelona Hotel; AGREEMENT dated August 23, 1958 between the City of Miami Beach and Abe Murovchick for the Betsy Ross Hotel; AGREEMENT dated August 26, 1958 between the City of Miami Beach and Simon Metrik for the Westover Arms Hotel and for the Hotel Continental.
