RESOLUTION NO. 9961
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach owns and operates
the Miami Beach Auditorium and the Miami Beach Exhibition Hall,
and
WHEREAS the said public buildings represent a
financial investment of substantial proportions, and
WHEREAS the best interests of the citizens and residents
require and demand that said public buildings be utilized to the
fullest possible extent, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that in order to achieve the foregoing purpose,
it is necessary to employ an Assistant Auditorium and Exhibition
Hall Manager, and
WHEREAS the duties of said position require the
possession of special and unique personal qualifications of
knowledge, skill, training and experience, and
WHEREAS Raymond A. Baker has established his possession
of the foregoing requisites to the satisfaction of the Miami
Beach Auditorium and Exhibition Hall Advisory Board, and
WHEREAS said Board has duly recommended to the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach the employment of the said
Raymond A. Baker in said capacity, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that the interests of the citizens and residents
of the City of Miami Beach require the approval and adoption of
said recommendation, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has prepared an agreement
providing for the employment of the said Raymond A. Baker in the
position of Assistant Miami Beach , idtgu um and Exhibition Hall
Manager for a period commencing on the 1st day of February,
1959 and terminating on the 6th day of June, 1961
at an annual salary of $9,500.00, and further provisions of
which are familiar to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and Clerk of the
City of Miami Beach be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to execute said agreement for and in behalf of the City of Miami
Beach and the appropriate financial and disbursing officials of
the City of Miami Beach be and they are hereby directed to pay
and disburse the sum or sums to the said Raymond A. Baker as
specified and set forth in said agreement.
