Resolution 10097 RESOLUTION NO. 10097 WHEREAS, MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL OF GREATER MIAMI, INC. is applying for a permit, from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, to fill and bulkhead certain areas of submerged land in Biscayne Bay, a portion of which lies between Collins Island and John's Island and the remainder of which surrounds John's Island, a sketch showing the areas sought to be filled and bulkheaded having been exhibited to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS, the areas sought to be filled and bulk- headed immediately adjoin an area of submerged land now being filled by the State Road Department of Florida in connection with the construction of the 36th Street Causeway across Biscayne Bay; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach is informed that, in the opinion of its engineers, the filling and bulkheading by Mount Sinai Hospital of Greater Miami, Inc., proposed to be done under the permit applied for, will not interfere with navigation and will not impede the free flow of water in Biscayne Bay; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said City hereby waives all objections to the issuance of the said permit to MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL OF GREATER MIAMI, INC. by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that certified copies of this resolution be furnished by the City Clerk to the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
