RESOLUTION NO. 10254
WHEREAS the 41st Street Causeway, commonly known as
the Julia Tuttle Causeway, has been formally dedicated and
opened to public use, and
WHEREAS said Causeway has greatly facilitated the
flow of traffic to and from the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS the improved accessibility to the City of
Miami Beach is responsive to the urgent public demand and need
therefor, and
WHEREAS the ensuing economic benefits to the City
of Miami Beach will likewise directly and immediately innure
to the benefit of the County of Dade and the State of Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Honorable
Leroy Collins, as Governor of the State of Florida, and the
individual members of the State Road Commission should be, and
they are hereby warmly commended for their active interest in
and great contribution to the welfare of the City of Miami Beach,
the County of Dade, and the State of Florida, as manifested by
their diligent efforts toward the construction and timely
completion of said Causeway, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and
he is hereby directed to transmit certified copies of this
Resolution to the Honorable Leroy Collins, as Governor of the
State of Florida, and to each member of the State Road Commission,
as evidence of the deep appreciation experienced by the Mayor
and members of the City Council, and the residents of the City
of Miami Beach for the lasting enduring contribution so made,
to the best interests and welfare of the City of Miami Beach.
