MALL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
M-1 M-1
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution No. 10243, passed and
adopted on the 6th day of January, 1960, ordered Mall Improvement M-1,
District M-1, and has caused to be prepared and filed with the City
Clerk plans and specifications of such improvement, and an estimate
of the cost thereof, including an estimate of the cost of the
incidental expenses of said improvement; and
WHEREAS, due notice by publication, as provided by the City
Charter, has been made that the City Council would, on the 20th day
of January, 1960, at the City Hall in said City of Miami Beach, at
10:45 otclock A.M. , receive and hear objections of all persons
interested to the confirmation of said resolution ordering said
improvement, and an objection presented having been heard and con-
sidered at the time and place aforesaid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said resolution of said City Council
ordering said Mall Improvement M-1, District M-1, be and the same is
hereby confirmed; that the City Council does hereby declare its
intention to have the work necessary to the accomplishment of said
improvement done partly with contract and partly by the City Forces
without contract; that the City Council does hereby declare its
intention to issue bonds of the said City to the amount required for
such improvement; to levy a special annual tax for the payment of the
principal and interest of said bonds, reducing the amount of the special
annual tax levy therefor by the amounts collected by special assessments
levied against properties abutting the highway where said improvement
shall be made and by any other amount then contained in the Local
Improvement Bond Fund and to levy special assessments against the
properties abutting the highway to be improved, in accordance with the
above mentioned resolution, for the cost thereof; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council declares its intention
to advance the cost of said improvement from the proceeds of the sale of
its said bonds, to collect said special assessments and to place the
proceeds thereof, together with the amount collected from said special
tax, in its Local Improvement Bond Fund to pay the interest and principal
of its said bonds, paying said principal and interest, so far as possible,
from the collection of said special assessments and paying any balance
from the proceeds of said special tax; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $510,983.00 is hereby
appropriated for the cost of said improvement from the proceeds of the
sale of its said bonds, as and when the same shall be accomplished, and
the sum of $5, 109.83 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund for
preliminary expenses incidental to the carrying out of this resolution.
