RESOLUTION NO. 10267
WHEREAS the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant, Inc.
has offered to contract with the City of Miami Beach for the
production of Miss Universe Pageant on certain days during
the period July 2, 1960 through July 10, 1960, both inclusive,
and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be to the best interest of the said City to enter
into a contract for the holding of the semi-final and final
contests for the selection of "Miss United States" and "Miss
Universe" in the City of Miami Beach during the aforesaid period,
and
WHEREAS a contract has been duly prepared setting forth
the provisions of said contract, with which the City Council is
familiar,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the said contract in the name of and on behalf of the said City
and the disbursing officers of the City are hereby authorized and
directed to make the expenditures required in accordance with the
terms of said contract out of the funds of the City available for
such purpose.
