The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide additional information to the Mayor and
City Commission regarding the existing design roadway elevations for the Venetian Islands
(San Marino, DiLido and Rivo Alto Islands).
On October 10, 2018, various city staff, media and members of the community joined members
of Mayor Gelber staff and members of the City Commission on a READY TEAM tour to assess
current conditions of roadways that have undergone infrastructure improvements throughout the
City of Miami Beach.
Areas visited during the tour included Sunset Islands I, Lower North Bay Road and the Venetian
Islands.
During the site visit to the Venetian Islands, David Martinez, Office of Capital Improvements
Director, presented a color coded map showing the current range of design roadway elevations
(attachment A), which gives a visual representation of the low and high areas of the Islands.
