RESOLUTION NO. 10324
WHEREAS, the creation of a beautiful Miami Beach
Garden Center which will consist of a handsome build-
ing within an exotic and specialized tropical garden
area, equipped with a conservatory, a horticultural
library, educational facilities and meeting rooms will
now proceed following the formal issuance of city
bonds for this purpose, and
WHEREAS, it would have been impossible to achieve
passage of the bond issue providing for this Garden
Center had it not been for the dedicated support and
wholehearted backing of Miami Beach' s Garden Clubs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City
Council of Miami Beach express its profound apprecia-
tion and warmest thanks to the Miami Beach Garden Club
for its splendid work in making possible this wonder-
ful Garden Center which will enrich our lives, grace
our City and enlarge its living beauty for generations
to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Reso-
lution be sent to Mrs. O. Whitmore Burtner, President
of the Miami Beach Garden Club, as a tangible token
of our sincere regard.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of April, 1960.
