Resolution 10344 RESOLUTION NO. 10344
WHEREAS the Miami Beach Railway Company is a public
utility company which owns and operates buses for public
transportation in the Cityof Miami Beach, in the Cityof Miami,

and between said cities, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter of the
City of Miami Beach, the City Council is invested with full
power and authority to establish, impose and enforce rates and
charges for public utility services or conveniences operated,
rendered or furnished by any person, persons, firm or corporation,
and
WHEREAS the Miami Beach Railway Company has requested
of the City Council a public hearing for the purpose of
considering the request of the said Miami Beach Railway Company
for a new bus line to traverse the following route:
Beginning at a point on Collins Avenue
at approximately 46th Street, running
south on Indian Creek Drive and Collins
Avenue to Lincoln Road; running west on
Lincoln Road to Alton Road, and continuing
north on Alton Road to Dade Boulevard,
thence over the Venetian Causeway to Miami
(express from Lincoln and Alton Roads to
Miami) ;
and
WHEREAS the Miami Beach Railway Company proposes to
establish a rate of 25c as its charge for transportation of
passengers from the points within the City of Miami Beach to
points within the City of Miami, as set forth in said proposed
route, and
WHEREAS THE City Council deems it to be to the best
interest of the City of Miami Beach and of the Miami Beach
Railway Company that such public hearing be held before it as
the regulatory authority of the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing be and
0the same is hereby called to be held at 10:00 o ' clock A.M. on
June 22, 1960, in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Miami Beach,
0Florida, for the purpose of hearing all persons and receiving any
evidence submitted on the question of whether the Miami Beach
Railway Company is entitled to establish the rate and fare as
above set forth.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to send a duly authenticated
copy of this resolution to the President of the Miami Beach
Railway Company and to all other persons or organizations who
may request a copy thereof.
