BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the official ballot to be used in
the Primary Election for the office of County Commissioner
of Metropolitan Dade County from the City of Miami Beach to
be held on November 22, 1960 shall be in substantially the
following form, to wit:
"OFFICIAL BALLOT
PRIMARY ELECTION
FOR
ELECTING ONE (1) COUNTY COMMISSIONER
TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY
FROM THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
NOVEMBER 22, 1960 .
(Make a cross (X) before the name of the candidate of your choice)
FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER OF
METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY
Vote for one (1) only:

That the official ballot to be used in the Special
Election to be held on November 22, 1960 , concurrently with the
Primary Election to be held on said date, shall be in
substantially the following form:

TO THE CHARTER OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA

"Shall the City Charter be amended by repealing
Section 40, and by amending Section 8 to provide
for four (4) year terms for each office of
Councilman; to provide for Group numbers for
each office of Councilman and the manner of
qualification and election thereto; to provide
for the election of a Mayor for a term of two
years; to define the eligibility of candidates
for the office of Mayor; and to authorize the
City Council to adopt ordinances or resolutions
to carry out the provisions of said amendment? ..

The City Clerk shall prepare the ballot so that the
names of qualified candidates will appear on said ballot in
alphabetical order according to surname; provided, however,
that said ballot and its preparation shall be such as to permit
compliance with the Laws of the State of Florida with respect
to the use of mechanical voting machines .
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon
its adoption.
