RESOLUTION NO. 10494
WHEREAS an agreement has been prepared for execution
by and between the Professional Golfers ' Association of America,
the City of Miami Beach, the City of Miami, and Metropolitan
Dade County, as sponsors for the holding of the Sunshine Open
Invitational Golf Tournament to be held at Bayshore Golf Course
on March 23 through March 26, 1961, and a Professional-Amateur
Tournament at said Golf Course on March 22, 1961, and
WHEREAS said agreement provides that said sponsors shall
guarantee the minimum sum of $25,000 .00 as prize money for said
Sunshine Invitational Tournament and the sum of $5,000 .00 for
like purpose for said Professional-Amateur Event, and
WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with other terms
and provisions of said agreement, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has approved the form of
said agreement, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be to the best interests of said City and its
inhabitants that said agreement be entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and
they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement
for and in the name and behalf of the City, and the disbursing
officers of the City are directed and authorized to disburse
from funds available for said purpose, such sum as shall or may
be the obligation of the City of Miami Beach under the terms
and provisions of said agreement.
