SUBJECT: Miami Beach Police Department nual Holiday Toy Giveaway Event
This Letter to the Mayor and Commission is to extend an invitation to attend the Miami Beach
Police Department's annual Holiday Toy Giveaway event on Saturday, December 151h from 9:00
a.m. till approximately noon in the Community Room on the first floor of the Police Station.
Each year, through the generosity of the Miami Beach community (private citizens, local
businesses, civic organizations and the LGBT Visitors Bureau, and many more), funds are
donated to the Miami Beach Police Relief Fund enabling the Miami Beach Police Department to
purchase and provide toys to the children of Miami Beach and provide a visit from Santa Clause.
For many, this may be the only toy they receive this year. The joy and happiness this event
brings to these children make the event extremely rewarding for all those involved.
Last year, we were able to distribute toys to over 350 children from infants up to 12 year olds. In
addition to distributing toys, the children will be entertained with face painting, popcorn, music,
and many other surprises.
Volunteers from throughout the community and the Police Athletic League will be working
together to ensure we make this another fun-filled holiday event. We hope to see you there and
wish you a very happy holiday season.
