Resolution 10572 RESOLUTION NO. 10572
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach is
considering amending those portions of Section 1 and Section 8
of Ordinance No. 289, commonly known as the "Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Miami Beach" , pertaining to self-service laundries
so as to define the same, and to permit their operation in "BB"
Business Districts as follows :
"A business establishment equipped with customer-
operated automatic washing machines having a capacity
per unit not exceeding twenty (20) pounds of dry
clothing, and having a water consumption per unit not
to exceed forty (40) gallons in any one complete
washing-rinsing-spinning cycle, and not requiring more
than thirty (30) inches in width and thirty (30) inches
in depth.
Provided, however, that said limitations as to consumption
and dimension shall not be applicable to washing machines
operated hereunder which have a dry-clothing capacity not
exceeding ten (10) pounds; all subject, however, to
existing limitations and provisions as to screening from
public view; "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing be and the
same is hereby called to be held on the 19th day of July, 1961,
at 11:15 o'clock A.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Miami
Beach, Florida, for the consideration of said amendment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
directed to give fifteen (15) days ' notice of the time, place and
object of said hearing by public notice thereof, published in the
Miami Beach Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in said City.
