RESOLUTION NO. 10585
WHEREAS, Chris Dundee is the holder of the exclusive
right to present boxing and wrestling exhibitions at the Miami
Beach Auditorium and Exhibition Hall by virtue of an agreement
entered into between the City of Miami Beach and the said Chris
Dundee on August 6, 1958, and
WHEREAS, by terms of the aforesaid agreement the minimum
guarantee for the use of the Miami Beach Auditorium was established
as the sum of $300 for each performance, and
WHEREAS, during the period from May 1 through October 31
of each year all other lessees of the said Miami Beach Auditorium
are required to pay a minimum guarantee of $200 instead of the
$300 which had been previously prescribed for the said Chris Dundee,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach deems
it to be in the best interests of the City to equalize the minimum
guarantee of all lessees of the Miami Beach Auditorium, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has prepared an amendment to
the aforesaid agreement dated August 6, 1958, which amendment
provides for a minimum guarantee of $200, effective May 1, 1961
through October 31, 1961, and for the same period in the year 1962
and for the same period in the year 1963 , crediting to the in-
debtedness of said Chris Dundee to the City any sum heretofore paid
in excess of the said minimum guarantee of $200 instead of the
prior minimum guarantee of $300 during the period commencing May 1,
1961, with the terms of which agreement the City Council is
familiar, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the
said City to enter into the said agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the said
extension in the name of and on behalf of the said City .
