WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
accepted the resignation of Mr. Art Gleason, and wishes to make
official recognizance of its sincere appreciation for his long and
loyal service to our City; and
WHEREAS, since June 16, 1927 Art Gleason has devoted himself
consistently to the promotion of golf within the environs of Miami
Beach; and
WHEREAS, it was through his efforts that many famous golf
tournaments were held here, spreading the name and fame of our
City throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, Art Gleason also dedicated himself to the promotion
of the good sportsmanship that is so inherent to America and
Americans;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we do hereby
express our appreciation to Mr. Art Gleason for the eminently
satisfactory and loyal service he has rendered Miami Beach. He
leaves with our sincere regret, and our best wishes.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of December, A.D. 196
