RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO
PREPARE AN APPLICATION FOR SUBMISSION
TO UNITED STATES HOUSING AND HOME FINANCE
AGENCY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER
WORKABLE PROGRAM FOR ARRESTING DETERIORATING
AREAS AND URBAN RENEWAL.
WHEREAS, the United States Housing and Home Finance
Agency provides financial assistance for urban renewal to certain
communities that submit a "Workable Program" as defined by
applicable federal regulations, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that Miami
Beach should submit a proposed "Workable Program" to the Federal
Housing and Home Finance Agency and make every effort to qualify
for financial assistance under such program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to prepare and submit to the United States Housing
and Home Finance Agency a "Workable Program" for Miami Beach,
and to take such actions as may be deemed advisable for Miami
Beach to qualify and participate in the Federal program for
arresting deteriorating areas and urban renewal through the
financial assistance from the United States Government .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of May, 1962.
