RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR INCREASE IN PLANNED
TOTAL EXPENDITURE FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS .
WHEREAS , under the terms of Public Law 87-658, approved
September 14, 1962 , the United States of America has authorized
the making of a grant to aid in financing the construction of a
specific public works project, provided the proposed or planned
total expenditure of the public body for its capital improvement
projects is increased by an amount approximately equal to the non-
Federal funds required to complete such public works project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That as of the date of filing of applications by the
City of Miami Beach, Florida (hereinafter called
Applicant) with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, United States
Government, for a grant to aid in financing the construction of
various sanitary sewers, storm sewers, street lighting systems
and water mains throughout the City of Miami Beach as indicated
in the attached list of public works projects for participation
in the Federal Government ' s accelerated public works program
dated November 7 , 1962 marked Exhibit I , the Applicant had a
capital improvement budget for the fiscal year during which con-
struction of the proposed projects is expected to occur; and that
the total expenditure for capital improvements in said budget was
$614, 632. 56 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1963 .
Section 2: That , in the event that said Federal grant is approved
by the United States of America, said capital improve-
ments plan or capital budget will be increased by an amount equal
to the Federal grant approved but shall not exceed $496, 850. 00 for
the projects herein referred to, for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 1963 (exclusive of Federal funds) .
Section 3: That the said total increase in the proposed or planned
total expenditure for capital improvement projects is
approximately equal to the non-Federal funds required to complete
the public works projects for which the application is to be
submitted.
Section 4: This resolution is adopted pursuant to the authority
provided by the City ' s Charter the same being Chapter
7672 of the Laws of the State of Florida of 1917 , as amended.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of November, 1962.
