A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION, APPROVING
FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000 FOR RENOVATIONS AT FIRE
STATION NO. 2 LOCATED AT 2300 PINE TREE DRIVE, AND FURTHER
APPROVING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $160,000 FOR RENOVATIONS
AT THE 42ND STREET PARKING GARAGE, LOCATED AT 400 42"d STREET;
WITH THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO BE REFLECTED IN A CAPITAL
BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR FY2017/18.
WHEREAS, the Property Management Department has requested that surplus Capital
Renewal and Replacement (CR&R) funds and 2003 G.O.B. funds from fully completed projects
be transferred to eligible underfunded projects, as needed; and
WHEREAS, Fire Station No. 2, located at 2300 Pine Tree Drive, is in need of interior
renovations, including renovations to the kitchen, with equipment and cabinetry which has
extended its useful life and is in need of repairs; and
WHEREAS, although the funds for such repairs were initially identified for FY 2018/2019,
the Administration identified 2003 General Obligation Bond funds that are currently available for
fire station projects and accordingly, recommends the transfer of the Fire Station No. 1 Electrical
Renewal project funds, in the amount of$35,000.00, to the Fire Station No. 2, Kitchen Renovation
Project; and
WHEREAS, the 42nd Street Parking Garage, located at 400 42"d Street, has severe
concrete spalling, is subject to accelerated deterioration, and is need of repairs; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the transfer of the 42nd Street Parking
Garage Elevator Replacement project funds, in the amount of$160,000,to the 42nd Street Parking
Garage Project; and
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2018, the Mayor and City Commission discussed the
transfer of project funds, and approved the use of funds from completed projects to fund the Fire
Station No. 2 Renovation Project and the 42"d Street Parking Garage Project, in the amounts set
forth above, with the final appropriation of such funds reflected in a Capital Budget amendment
for FY2017-18.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve funding in the amount of$35,000 for renovations at Fire Station No.
2 located at 2300 Pine Tree Drive, and further approve funding in the amount of $160,000 for
renovations at the 42nd Street Parking Garage, located at 400 4211° Street; with the appropriation
of funds to be reflected in a Capital Budget amendment for FY2017/18.
