RESOLUTION NO. 10954
WHEREAS, Representative Claude Pepper of the Third
Congressional District of Florida has introduced an
amendment to the Area Redevelopment Act so as to qualify
Dade County, Florida for $50, 000, 000 .00 in loan and grant
funds to combat rising unemployment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida deems the passage of such amendment to be of great
benefit to and in the best interests of the people of the
City of Miami Beach and of all Dade County, Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the United States
Senators from the State of Florida, the Honorable Spessard
Holland and the Honorable George Smathers, and the respective
Congressmen from the State of Florida be requested to exert
their best efforts to secure the passage of said legislation.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of April, 1963 .
