Resolution 10961 RESOLUTION NO. 10961 WHEREAS it has been publicized in the daily press that the Department of Interior of the United States is willing, if requested to do so by Dade County, to conduct a thorough study and research into the effects of the construction of an oil refinery in Dade County upon priceless and irreplace- able natural resources in Dade County, Florida, and WHEREAS it has also been publicized that although such study and research would be made without cost to Dade County, Dade County has yet to make such request, and WHEREAS time is of the greatest essence, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Department of Interior be advised of the warm gratification of the residents and citizens of Miami Beach, Florida in the interest manifested by said Department in a matter of transcendent importance to every present and future resident of Dade County and South Florida, and that the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida formally request, by this Resolution, that said Department of Interior forthwith embark upon said study for and on behalf of the gravely apprehensive and deeply concerned residents and citizens of Miami Beach, Florida.
