RESOLUTION NO. 10975
BEING A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AWARD
OF CONTRACTS TO THE HOUSING AND HOME
FINANCE AGENCY COMMUNITY FACILITIES
ADMINISTRATION ACCELERATED PUBLIC WORKS
PROGRAM, PROJECT APW-FLA-85G
WHEREAS the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, accepted a
grant offer of Federal Assistance under the Public Works
Accelerated Act, dated November 7th, 1962 , on February 13th,
1963 , and,
WHEREAS the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, opened com-
petitive bids at 10 : 00 A. M. , May 1st, 1963 , for PROJECT
APW-FLA-85G, consisting of Parts 1 and 2 , under the Accele-
rated Public Works Program, and according to the instructions
of the HOUSING AND HOME FINANCE AGENCY COMMUNITY FACILITIES
ADMINISTRATION, and
WHEREAS all bids opened at such time and date have been
examined , considered , and evaluated by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, and,
WHEREAS the low bid received for Contract No. 1 was in
excess of available funds,
NOW THEREFOR be it resolved by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that all bids received for Contract No.
1 be rejected and that the original Plans be revised and new bids
be advertised for, and said bids to be opened on June 5th, 1963 .
NOW THEREFOR be it further resolved by the CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the lowest and best bid
for Contract No. 2 of said Project is hereby determined to be
REED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY and E. G. ASCHE, an individual , in the
amount of $141 ,941 . 85 , representing the net after deducting
Alternate 2.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that subject to the approval of the
HOUSING AND HOME FINANCE AGENCY COMMUNITY FACILITIES ADMINISTRATION
that said Contract No. 2 be awarded to the successful bidder and
in the amount hereinabove designated.
