Resolution 10979 RESOLUTION NO. 10979
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, that it be and it is opposed to any legislation
seeking or proposing the extension or imposition of a sales tax on
yearly leases of apartments for the reasons that the same does not
fall within the spirit or intent of any excise tax; that the same
would be in effect a tax upon real estate; and would add a
substantial additional tax burden thereon, to the economic detriment
of the City of Miami Beach, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to each Senator and to each member of the House of
Representatives from Dade County respectfully requesting his or
her earnest opposition to any proposed legislation of the nature
hereinabove described.
