Resolution 11282 RESOLUTION NO. 11282
WHEREAS, "Fight of the Week" telecasts have become an
institution on the American sports scene; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has been honored and
privileged to host these telecasts on many occasions, and
WHEREAS, "Fight of the Week" has contributed greatly
to the promotion of boxing, and has enhanced the image of
Miami Beach as one of the nation 's leading sports capitals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach salute the producers of "Fight of
the Week" and the American Broadcasting Company, in gratitude
for the many gestures of friendship and cooperation they have
shown the sports fans of our community.
AND, FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that this resolution be
made a part of the permanent records of the City of Miami Beach
and copies thereof be presented to HUGH BEACH and the AMERICAN
BROADCASTING COMPANY as tangible tokens of our very warm and
sincere appreciation.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 31st day of August, 1964.
