Resolution 11378 RESOLUTION NO. 11378
WHEREAS, the agreement between the City of Miami Beach and
Peekskill Enterprises, Inc. for the staging and production of
the Jackie Gleason Show from the Miami Beach Auditorium is soon
to expire, and
WHEREAS, the performance of said agreement has been
characterized by mutual manifestations of extreme cordiality
with corresponding and reciprocal benefits of great magnitude
to the parties thereto, and
WHEREAS, the said Jackie Gleason has, by his ebullient
good nature, endeared himself to the entire community, and the
said Jackie Gleason Show and its entire cast and production
staff has become a cherished asset of the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach has
been informed that the said Jackie Gleason has found his recep-
tion in the community of such edulcorative nature that he is
pleased to contemplate retaining his show in the City of Miami
Beach from this time henceforth, and to renew his existing
agreement with the City, and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared for such extension
for a period of one year on the same terms and conditions, the
City Council being familiar therewith,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the said agreement
be and the same is hereby approved and the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same
for and in the name of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and
that the financial officers of the City make the disbursements
required thereby.
