Resolution 11384 RESOLUTION NO. 11384 WHEREAS, the year 1965 is of momentous significance as mark- ing the Fiftieth Anniversary of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and WHEREAS, the year 1965 looms large on the horizon of the history of man as commemorating the Fiftieth Anniversary of the United States Naval Reserve, and WHEREAS, the official theme of said Fiftieth Anniversary of the United States Naval Reserve is Sir Winston Churchill ' s tribute to Reservists, "Twice a Citizen" , and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and its citizens desire to join and participate in the universal tribute and accolade to be bestowed upon the United States Naval Reserve for its glorious and golden part in the naval saga of the United States of America rightly emblazoned as "Victory at Sea" , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that in grateful recognition of its immeasurable debt to each and every man and woman who, with noble self-sacrifice, participated in the enduring chronicles of the United States Naval Reserve in naval warfare, that the year 1965, commencing on the 3rd day of March thereof, be and it is hereby solemnly proclaimed to be United States Naval Reserve Fiftieth Anniversary Year, and that all citizens and groups of citizens are urged to participate in the observance thereof. PASSED and ADOPTED this 24th day of February , 1965.
