Resolution 11393 ------------ RESOLUTION NO. 11393 WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County, Florida, is preparing a Schedule for the construction, reconstruc- tion, or repair of certain Secondary Roads in Dade County for submission to the State Road Department for the 1965-1966 fiscal year, and WHEREAS said Schedule as proposed and recommended by the Department of Public Works and Roads of Dade County calls for the expenditure of an approximate sum slightly in excess of Nine Million ($9 , 000, 000.00) Dollars, and WHEREAS said tentative Schedule includes but one project within the Corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach as follows, to wit: Limits Length Estimated Costs "Name From To in Mi . Construction Total Alton Road 7 St. - Lincoln Rd. 0.9 $ 30, 000 $30, 000" and, 11, WHEREAS it would appear that the proposed allocation of $30, 000.00 out of a total proposed budget of more than $9, 000, 000.00 is somewhat less than proportionate and commensurate with the reasonable needs and just expectations of the City of Miami Beach, and does not accurately reflect the informed and astute judgment of the individual and collective members of the Board of Commissioners of Dade County as to the imperative and urgent needs of the City of Miami Beach under the Secondary Road System of Dade County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Board of Commissioners of Dade County be and it is hereby respectfully petitioned to discard and reject the foregoing unrealistic and unstudied recom- mendation of the Dade County Department of Public Works and Roads, insofar as the same pertains to the single fragmentary item allocated to the City of Miami Beach, and to include and add to the aforesaid item the following additional projects, the merits of which must of necessity commend themselves to the alert solicitude of the Board of County Commissioners for the mutual and general improvement of the welfare of the City of Miami Beach and the County of Dade: "1. WEST AVENUE FROM 5TH STREET TO 16TH STREET. (FIRST PRIORITY) Proposed R/W: 60 ft. & 70 ft. Existing R/W: 50 ft. & 70 ft. Proposed Pavement: 50 ft. with Existing Pavement: 30 ft.
