Resolution 11510 RESOLUTION NO. 11510
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the City of Miami Beach is opposed to
the enactment of House Bill No. 420 pertaining to the extension
of time within which claims for tort may be filed against muni-
cipalities for the reason that the same is contrary to the best
interests of the City of Miami Beach, its residents and citi-
zens, inasmuch as it would deprive the City of the opportunity
to conduct a prompt investigation of the facts and circumstances
surrounding the claim, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
transmitted to each member of the Dade County delegation to the
Legislature of the State of Florida, and that they be urged to
oppose the enactment of said Bill, or in the alternative to
amend the same so as to exclude the City of Miami Beach from
the provisions thereof.
