Morales, City Manager DATE: November 19, 2018 SUBJECT: Audit Committee The Audit Committee would like you to be aware of the following motions that were approved in the November 15, 2018 meeting: Motion 1: The City of Miami Beach is required to have an annual audit in accordance with Florida Statutes 218.391 performed on the City Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Audit Committee has discussed the external auditor selection process for the City of Miami Beach's annual financial audit for the Fiscal Year 2019 in the November 15, 201 8 meeting and has approved to move forward with the Request for Proposal (RFP) for Auditing Services as written adding a provision that the external auditor commits to provide at least a couple of senior members during the audit process. Motion Passage: Votes 4-0 Motion by: Deede Weithorn Seconded by: Marc Gidney Motion 2: The Audit Committee recommends that the City of Miami Beach considers adding a provision in all new contracts whereby failure to pay fiduciary taxes (ex. payroll and states sales taxes) is subject to default of the contract.
