Resolution 11524 RESOLUTION NO. 11524
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach has been and is receiving
Federal assistance through the office of the Regional Adminis-
trator of the Housing and Home Finance Agency for Project APW-
FLA-88G, and
WHEREAS the said Agency has advised the City of Miami
Beach that in order for the City to continue receiving such
assistance it is necessary for the City to execute an agreement
prepared by the said Agency entitled "Assurance of Compliance, "
which agreement recites, in part, as follows:
"CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, a Florida municipal cor-
poration, (hereinafter called the "Applicant")
HEREBY AGREES THAT it will comply with Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (P.L. 88-
352) and all requirements imposed by or pursu-
ant to the Regulations of the Housing and Home
Finance Agency (24 CFR, Subtitle A, Part 1)
issued pursuant to that Title, to the end that,
in accordance with Title VI of the Act and the
Regulations, no person in the United States
shall, on the ground of race, color, or national
origin, be excluded from participation in, be
denied the benefits of, or be otherwise sub-
jected to discrimination under any program or
activity for which the Applicant receives
Federal financial assistance from the Housing
and Home Finance Agency, through the Community
Facilities Administration, and HEREBY GIVES
ASSURANCE THAT it will immediately take any
measures necessary to effectuate this
agreement. " ,
and
WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with all of the terms
and provisions of said agreement entitled "Assurance of
Compliance, " and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach finds
and determines that the execution of the said agreement by the
City of Miami Beach is for the best interest of the said City
and its citizens and residents ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and

deliver the said agreement entitled "Assurance of Compliance"
for, on behalf of, and in the name of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, and that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this Resolu-
tion to the proper Federal authority and officials, as required
by law.
