Resolution 11546 RESOLUTION NO. 11546
WHEREAS it has come to the attention of the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida that the widening of Fifth
Street from MacArthur Causeway to Ocean Drive is a project com-
ing within the potential scope of the Federal Urban Renewal
Act, and similar legislation, and
WHEREAS the benefits accruing from the accomplishment of
such project would be of incalculable magnitude to all of
Greater Miami, Dade County as well as the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Metropolitan Dade
County Commission be and it is hereby respectfully requested to
exercise all its resources and efforts to obtain Federal
approval and financial participation in said widening of said
thoroughfare, and to direct the Dade County Planning Department
to represent to the appropriate Federal Agencies and officials
that said project possesses the highest degree of priority.
