Resolution 11547 RESOLUTION NO. 11547 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida is of the belief that the continued operation of Venetian Causeway as a toll facility is an ancient anomaly having no place in an urban traffic system; that the collection of tolls thereon is destructive of the good will of tourist and resident alike; that the amount of tolls collected must be regarded as being wholly incom- mensurate with the substantial economic loss and detriment resulting from the existence of the toll system thereon; and that the discontinuance of such toll system would enable the Venetian Causeway to be utilized to its fullest extent and thereby benefit the Greater Miami area and all of Dade County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Metropolitan Dade County Commission be and it is hereby urged to take prompt appropriate action, in its capacity as the Dade County Port Authority, so as to remove said Venetian Cause- way from the jurisdiction and authority of the Port Authority, and transferring and conveying the same to Dade County for operation as a toll free thoroughfare.
