Resolution 11558 RESOLUTION NO. 11558
WHEREAS the Honorable Haydon Burns during his cam-
paign for election to the high office of Governor of the
State of Florida pledged, in the event of his election,
that he would establish an office of the Division of
Tourism of the Florida Development Commission in the
County of Dade, and
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach is known throughout
the world as the pre-eminent and peerless symbol of and
for tourism, and
WHEREAS it is therefore manifestly most fitting
and appropriate that the said Tourism Division office
should, and of right ought to be located in the City of
Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that Honorable Haydon
Burns, Governor of the State of Florida, be and he is
hereby earnestly urged to direct that said Tourism
Division office be located within the City of Miami
Beach, and that said office be established with all
reasonable dispatch.
