Resolution 11570 RESOLUTION NO. 11570
WHEREAS the Miami Beach Taxpayers ' Association presented to
the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, at its regular meet-
ing held on July 7, 1965, the following resolution, to-wit:
"WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Taxpayers ' Association
believes it is for the best interest for the City of
Miami Beach, the various municipalities located in Dade
County, Florida, and for the County of Dade as well,
for the State of Florida to acquire certain property
located on Key Biscayne and further identified as Cape
Florida, all for State Park purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Association has considered the
aspects of the acquisition of said land and the pro-
jected use of the same,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Miami Beach
Taxpayers ' Association enthusiastically and whole-
heartedly endorses the acquisition of Cape Florida
located on Biscayne Key by the State of Florida for
State Park purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Miami Beach Tax-
payers ' Association recommends that the City of Miami
Beach and all other municipalities located in Dade
County, Florida, adopt a similar resolution such as this
to evidence the expression of public opinion concerning
the acquisition of Cape Florida for State Park purposes. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that said Resolution of said
Miami Beach Taxpayers ' Association be and the same is hereby
adopted as a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of July, 1965 .
