Resolution 11582 RESOLUTION NO. 11582
WHEREAS Doctor and Mrs. Robert Oliver, 7411 Hardee Drive,
South Miami, Florida, in memory of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
R. C. Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Oliver, have voluntarily
presented their Cattleya Orchid collection to the City of Miami
Beach, and
WHEREAS the said Orchid collection consists of approxi-
mately 4, 500 plants and represents the loving labor of almost
two decades, and represents a monetary value of great
proportions, and
WHEREAS this gracious gift has brought and will continue
to bring, not only to the people of the City of Miami Beach but
to the countless number of its visitors and tourists, sensa-
tions of profound pleasure and a lasting appreciation of the
incomparable beauty reflected by said collection, and
WHEREAS this gift to the City of Miami Beach is attribut-
able in great part to the efforts of the City' s Horticulturist,
Mr. Robert C. Kundtz,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the said City Council, for
itself and on behalf of its citizens and residents, does hereby
express its grateful acknowledgment of the generosity of the
said Doctor and Mrs. Robert Oliver for making such contribution
to the City and that the said Robert C. Kundtz be and he is
hereby warmly commended for his efforts in the premises, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that a suitable and appropriate plaque be
permitted and authorized to be placed in the City of Miami
Beach Conservatory in recognition of said donation, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that appropriate copies of this Resolution
be transmitted to the said Doctor and Mrs. Robert Oliver.
