SUBJECT: AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT ON D PLAY AT MBPD
The Miami Beach Police Department is pleased to announce that for the first time since
1992, a section of the internationally celebrated AIDS Memorial Quilt will be returning to
Miami Beach. The quilt will be on display in the lobby of the Miami Beach Police
Department starting on November 30th through December 9th_
The quilt's unveiling will take place at 5pm on Friday, November 30th in the lobby of the
Police Department; 1100 Washington Avenue. A brief presentation will follow with
comments from Mayor Gelber, Chief Oates, Steve Adkins; President and CEO of the
Miami Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and Cindy Brown; Vice Chair of
the LGBT Advisory Committee.
Commissioners and guests are welcome to attend the presentation and a reception that
will immediately follow, hosted by the Miami Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of
Commerce and Miami Beach Gay Pride in Chamber's courtyard, across from the Police
Department.
