Resolution 11614 RESOLUTION NO. 11614
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach is the only municipality
in Dade County which makes financial contributions to the medi-
cal care of indigent persons, and
WHEREAS such financial contribution for the fiscal year
ending September 30, 1964 amounted to $33, 500.00, and
WHEREAS it is an unjust, inequitable and discriminatory
burden upon the taxpayers of the City of Miami Beach to continue
making such expenditure when no other municipality in Dade
County assumes and carries such obligation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Board of Commissioners
of Metropolitan Dade County relieve the taxpayers of the City
of Miami Beach of said unjust, inequitable and discriminatory
financial burden and that said Board be and it is hereby
requested to assume this obligation and to make provision for
such expenditure in its 1966-67 Budget, or sooner if at all
possible.
