Resolution 11688 RESOLUTION NO. 11688
WHEREAS a proposal has emanated from Metropolitan Dade
County for the adoption of an Ordinance whereby it would be
provided that but one County-wide occupational license and a
single fee would be required for contractors, thereby elimina-
ting the onerous burden and expense of such persons to obtain
such licenses in each municipality in which they desire to en-
gage in their respective callings, and
WHEREAS said proposal provides for a system of participa-
tion by the several municipalities on a voluntary basis, and
WHEREAS said proposed Ordinance sets forth a method of
apportioning said single occupational license among the parti-
cipating municipalities in such manner that there would be no
diminution in the revenues of such municipalities, and
WHEREAS said proposal possesses desirable features which
commend themselves to the favorable consideration of the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the proper officials of
Metropolitan Dade County be informed and advised that the City
of Miami Beach will participate in the said proposed ordinance,
if and when the same is adopted, on the voluntary basis and in
the manner provided in said proposed Ordinance.
