A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA OUTDOOR RECREA-
TIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE FOR STATE AND FEDERAL
GRANTS TO HELP IN THE ACQUISITION OF THE FOLLOW-
ING PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR PARK PURPOSES :
THE FIFTY-THIRD STREET OCEAN FRONT PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of obtaining
additional land to be used for park, bathing beach and re-
lated recreational purposes ; and
WHEREAS, available vacant or predominantly vacant land in
the City of Miami Beach is rapidly being consumed for private
construction,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City Manager is hereby authori-
zed to make application to the Florida Outdoor Recreational
Planning Committee for State Funds and Federal Grant under the
Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 to help in the
acquisition of the Fifty-Third Street Ocean Front Park (Lots 23,
24, 25 Amended Plat of First Front Subdivision as per Plat
recorded in Plat Book 9, at Page 78, of the Public Records of
Dade County, Florida) to be used for bathing beach, park and
vehicular parking and other related recreational purposes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 16th DAY OF December, A.D. 1965
