A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE HOUSING AND
HOME FINANCE AGENCY OF THE FEDERAL GOVERN-
MENT FOR AN OPEN SPACE LAND GRANT TO HELP
IN THE ACQUISITION OF THE FOLLOWING PRO-
PERTY TO BE USED FOR BATHING, BEACH, AND
PARK PURPOSES : SOUTH SHORE OCEAN FRONT PARK,
PHASE I
WHEREAS, The City of Miami Beach is desirous of obtaining
additional open spaces to be used for bathing beach, park
and related recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, available vacant land or land occupied by compara-
tively obsolete structures in the City of Miami Beach is
rapidly being consumed for private construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City Manager is
hereby authorized to make application to the Housing and
Home Finance Agency of the Federal Government for an Open-
space Land Grant to help in the acquisition of the following
property to be used for bathing beach, park and vehicular
parking and related recreational use : South Shore Ocean Front
Park, Phase I (Lots 1 through 6, Block 1, Friedman & Cope
Subdivision, according to the Plat thereof recorded in Plat
Book 4, Page 83, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida) .
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS16th DAY OF December, A.D. 1965
