Resolution 11703 RESOLUTION NO. 11703
WHEREAS one of the conditions imposed by the donors of the
Bass Art Collection was that the same should be maintained and
administered by the Board of Trustees designated and constitu-
ted in the manner and mode set forth in the agreement between
the City of Miami Beach and the donors, John and Johanna Bass,
and
WHEREAS it was the manifest purpose and intent of said
agreement that said Board should have jurisdiction over said
Art Collection, to the exclusion of any other Board created by
the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS to permit any other Board to attempt to exercise
jurisdiction over said Art Collection would constitute a breach
of faith by the City of Miami Beach, as well as of the solemn
agreement entered into between said parties,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that it is the sense of said Council
that no other Board created by the Council has jurisdiction over
said Art Collection and its maintenance.
