Resolution 12265 RESOLUTION NO. 12265
WHEREAS, the Music and Fine Arts Board of the City
has recommended and requested an appropriation of funds
in order to institute a music program for students from the
fourth grade through high school; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach that the program, as presented
by the Music and Fine Arts Board, would be of great
educational and cultural value to the elementary and
high school students in the public schools of the City;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised that such
appropriation may be made only by the Board of Public
Instruction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it does strongly
urge and request the Dade County Board of Public Instruction
to appropriate the necessary funds for the implementation
of this Music Program in the public elementary and high
schools situate in the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that certified copies of this
resolution be transmitted to the appropriate officials of
the Dade County Board of Public Instruction,
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of November, 1967.
