Resolution 11715 RESOLUTION NO. 11715 WHEREAS the establishment of a permanent branch of the Miami-Dade County Junior College in the City of Miami Beach has long been a much desired goal and objective of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, and WHEREAS in the event that the Dade County Board of Public Instruction determines to discontinue the operation of the South Beach Elementary School an ideal ready-made site for said Branch will be available for immediate use, and WHEREAS it is the belief and firm conviction of said City Council that said Branch would attract a student enrollment of gratifyingly successful proportions, particularly if a suffi- ciently comprehensive curriculum be instituted and maintained, and WHEREAS the establishment of said Branch Junior College merits the whole-hearted support of the entire community, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that each civic group and organization in the community be and it is hereby requested and urged to petition the Dade County Board of Public Instruction to take forthwith such action as it shall deem necessary to create a permanent Branch of the Miami-Dade County Junior College at such site in the City of Miami Beach as said Board may deem available, suitable and appropriate.
